A Lonely Puppet

She sits in her room all alone
With a piece of wood in her hand
She carves another flawless lifeless puppet
Then attaches its strings and makes it dance
They see her from a distance and marvel
At her talent and oh, her impeccable beauty
They see her and immediately want to be her
Until they step in her shoes and see
Her view is a cracked curse
With no friends, at least no living ones
Her mind is a clattered realm
With no one to come and help untangle the thoughts
Her parents are devoid of any pity for their daughter
They scream in frustration and they shout in anger
Until she turns her back to the world again
Trapped forever, waiting for a miracle
No one talks to her ever
They’re all intimidated by her aura of glam
They look at her and sigh in love
Only if they knew the truth!
She sees happy crowds of friends chatting
She sees angry crowds of men
She sees a world united as one
Wondering where she could fit in
You’d find her sitting in a corner
Silently sobbing her life away
Transforming into the object clutched in her hand
A flawless lifeless puppet.

This poem rings true to the saying- what we see isn’t all there is. Keep on writing ❤
