Sun

The sun showers down torrents of light
As we shield our eyes from its brightness
There is a boy who lives in a dark town
Where electricity is a invisible guest
And darkness surrounds all
He looks up the sun and smiles
His only source of light and of happiness
The redeeming facet of his life
As we curse the sun for giving us burns
There is a farmer on his fields
Who works all day trying to make money
And when the rains destroy his crops and infest them with insects
He waits for the sun to arrive
And when it does, the farmer is seen
Screaming with joy as his crops are plush green
The sun shines on the leaves and let them make food
And the farmer goes to sleep happily
As we clutch our heads as migraines hit us
A girl walks out of the hospital ward
A girl who is terminal and sees the sun after years
She looks up the sun and tears slide down her cheeks
Her body soaks up the Vitamin D
And she hugs her mother and sobs happily

Rather than cribbing about the mishaps
Let us enjoy these simple pleasures of existence
One day, the oblivion will strike and we will lose everything
Live your life today or repent tomorrow
